Rob Shanahan graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology Bolton Street in 1993.
He began working with Seamus Carr Architects where he primarily worked on residential and mixed use projects before joining Murray O'Laoire Architects in 1994 where he was involved on a variety of projects including Limerick Institute of technology Phases 2 ,L.I.T. Restaurant Building and L.I.T. Refurbishment Phases 3-7.
In 1995 he took a year out to work as site Architect on a number of projects at Rhone Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceutical in Nenagh , Co.Tipperary and also worked on varying private projects during this period.
In 1996 he rejoined MurrayO’Laoire Architects where he was project leader on various Limerick Institute of Technology projects as well as a variety of different projects. Rob joined the R.I.A.I. in 1998.
He remained at Murray O'Laoire Architects until 1999 when he set up his company Ink Architects.
This practice merged with Michael O’Connor Architects in 2002 to form O’Connor + Shanahan Architects.
